Pictures of the Week – Week 1 (2014)

The first Pictures of the Week for 2014! For the uninitiated, every Saturday I share some of my favorite pictures from the past week. Typically, the pictures I share on Saturday are ones that have not been shared during the week via my social media networks. If you are not already connected with me, I invite you to follow me on Twitter or Instagram and/or add me on Facebook – those are the three I use the most.

On Saturday night, the twins and I went to a concert at Doug Fir Lounge - these are the stamps they gave us when we walked in. I decided we HAD to get a picture of our stamps together because why not?

On Tuesday, we went out to Slappy Cakes for breakfast, because sometimes you just want to pay $8 to make your own breakfast at a restaurant after waiting an hour. During the wait, we walked down to Saint Cupcake and bought cupcakes on their last day.

This vintage store I love on Hawthorne has endless file cabinets (okay, three) of pictures. I love looking through them and finding treasures and wondering about these specific, particular moments some person in the past wanted to capture. This one was beautiful. I kinda wanted to buy it, but then I did not. I do not know why I did not...probably should have.

Tartberry is the most positive and happy frozen yogurt place I have ever been to! They have all these little squares of papers and pens available and you can leave a note for future frozen yogurt eaters to read - whether it be "this place rocks!" or some encouraging, inspiring thing.

I love the lights on Morrison. No photograph quite captures the magic.
