Song Sunday – Week 34 (2013)

I first heard this song about a week and a half ago or so on an 8tracks playlist, and it has come up repeatedly since then. I think it is a super groovy tune. It has the honesty and harshness of Macklemore – Lorde is coming from a heartfelt place with her music, and reading about how it has significant meaning to her is awesome. I love when artists are an identifiable individual, and not the banner of a corporate conglomerate.

Above and beyond that, she’s from New Zealand and only 16 years old. I have not really checked out much of her other music, but I love this song this week.
