10 Movies I’m Looking Forward to in 2014

Traditionally at the beginning of every year I go through the list of all the movies coming out that year and decide which ones I want to see in cinemas and which ones I will catch later. This year, I have rethought that philosophy and instead just have a list of 10 movies I am looking forward to seeing at some point in the future, hopefully this year. My intention is not to exclude movies – there are plenty of huge films I am very excited about, as well as smaller films that intrigue me (Veronica Mars, anyone?) that did not make this list.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman
A animated time-traveling talking dog? Yes please.

Divergent
Adaptation of the dystopian novel. Great story, features Shailene Woodley.

Captain America: The Winter Solider
Continuation of the 2nd Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I have not been incredibly impressed with the past couple films, but am looking forward to a bit of a change of pace.

Godzilla
Another re-telling of the famous monster, this time set in San Francisco. I loved the 1997 film so much I watched it for a week straight once, much to my mothers chagrin.

X-Men: Days of Future Past
Finally we move the entirety of the X-Men cast past the events of X-Men 3, and we get to see the cast from First Class again.

The Fault in Our Stars
Adaptation of the NY Times Bestselling sobfest with breakout star Shailene Woodley (Also in Divergent).

How to Train Your DragonPartly because dragons, partly because I spend a lot of time on Tumblr.

Guardians of the Galaxy
The first venture Marvel is taking in their Cinematic Universe to the deliberately science fiction and it features an incredible cast. I am very excited for this film.

Mockingjay- Part 1After the brilliance that was the Catching Fire adaptation, my enthusiasm for this is pretty high.

What movies are you looking forward to this year? Go ahead and share down in comments!

This is Where I Leave You – adaptation of Jonathan Tropper’s book. Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Connie Britton. Should be awesome!
