Song Sunday: Week 35 (2014)

It has been a few weeks since I have done this whole Song Sunday thing (maybe April was the last time), but I was chatting about Michael Jackson with my friend and his four-year old son because “Beat It” came on while we were eating lunch today. At some point later on the Streetcar, this song came up and my friend did not remember that Michael Jackson did a song for Free Willy.

During my childhood, I think one of my favorite movie moments is the one at 3:00 in this video (watch the whole thing, don’t just skip ahead), and even now I find it to be emotionally powerful. Free Willy is one of the first movies I remember seeing at home on a VCR, and consequently one of the first movies I remember seeing multiple times.
